Mumias Sugar Company [PHOTO/ebru.co.ke]As the nation comes to terms with the recent murder of Mumias Sugar manager Ronald Lubya, conflicting information is now coming in from the authorities.
Earlier police reports said that Lubya was shot in the head by the assailants who also stole goods from his house in Mumias.
However, a government pathologist has refuted this position.
Nyanza regional government pathologist Solomon Sava on Tuesday told family members that the deceased's preliminary findings showed he succumbed to a fatal blow to his head caused by a blunt object.
Sava said Lubya also suffered another similar blow on his arms and chest.
After conducting a postmortem at Avenue Hospital, Kisumu, Sava however did not elaborate the findings and said he would give a comprehensive report today.
He was firm that Lubya did not succumb to bullet wounds.
“I would like to correct what came out in the media that Lubya was shot. The postmortem has shown that he was hit using a blunt object repeatedly on the head, chest, and arm. No bullet was lodged in his head and there was no exit point, just the fractures,” said Nelson Chagenya, a cousin of the deceased.
