Kisumu MCAs were on Tuesday forced to conduct their sittings outside after they were locked from the county assembly buildings.
According to the Star, County Speaker Ann Adul had ordered the county management to close the assembly buildings on grounds that MCAs were going on a long recess that stretched from December 2 to February 7.
Adul added that there would be no sessions held in the period between.
"Consequently no purported business of the assembly should be transacted at the municipal chambers," the letter stated.
However, county clerk Philip Adundo has come out saying that the assembly was not on recess.
MCAs who reported on Tuesday held their sessions outside the gate and called for the impeachment of Governor Jack Ranguma and the speaker.
