ODM national election board on Monday announced that the law only provided for duly registered members to take part in the incoming party primaries prior to the August elections.

The party is targeting a solid base of close to 4 million loyal members across the country. Failure to register as a member on the party's register will mean that one could be denied chance to take part in the primaries.

"We recently initiated a countrywide registration exercise in November last year and the exercise is set to end this month. All party registers should be submitted to the IEBC by February in readiness for the exercise," said Judy Pareno, the ODM chairperson.

Pareno also issued that the national oversight board had creates three political zones around the country, stating that individuals without opponents in their regions shall be declared duly elected in the primaries and thus being awarded direct tickets for the party.
