Confusion continues to rock ODM's Kwale County camp, something that may have far-reaching political repercussions in the party's perceived stronghold.This follows the decision by the National Appeals Tribunal to revoke the nomination certificates issued to gubernatorial aspirant Dr Issa Chipera and Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori after successful appeals by aspirants who contested the results.According to the tribunal verdict which was issued on Saturday, the April 22 nominations exercise did not meet the threshold of a free and fair nominations.Fallowing the tribunal's ruling, the party's National Elections Board was directed to conduct a repeat of the exercise in seven polling stations in Msambweni. However, the NEB is yet to set a date for the exercise.As per the results of the April 22 exercise, Dr Chipera edged out his closest challenger for the ticket, Kwale County Assembly Speaker Sammy Ruwa by a huge margin.However, Ruwa claimed that the process was marred with massive irregularities.On the other hand, Suleiman Dori's bitter rival, Gombato Bongwe ward MCA Omar Boga contested the declaration of his opponent as the winner, and threatened to ditch the Raila Odinga-led party should there be no intervention.
