There was confusion at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday after Cord supporters took over the proceedings that were supposed to bring together all opposition parties.
There was hardly any space left when opposition leader Raila Odinga arrived with his allies including party leaders Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya).
In an effort to find space for the arriving guests, organisers were forced to send away some of the dignitaries sitting at the dais.
"Even MPs should not come to the dais" said a distressed MC.
Even Kisumu Governor Jack Raguma had to be taken to the washrooms under heavy security as his officers kept pushing their way through the crowd.
The event was attended by thousands of Kenyans with some youth groups harassing a number of aspirants.
