President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have been pushing for formation of JAP, a party expected to consolidate all affiliates parties in their bid for the second term in office.

But the move by TNA to launch its offices at the moment when the parties are expected to be dissolved in favor of JAP have left many questions unanswered.

However, the new TNA Gusii region coordinator Charles Mochama has dismissed infightings within the two Jubilee coalition parties URP and TNA and said the merger plans were in advanced stages.

“I don’t see any confusion on launching TNA because after all we are in Jubilee. At the end of it all, we will consolidate all the parties for JAP,” said Mochama.

“But for now, I think the TNA office will enable us recruit more members to Jubilee and also help in establishing a concrete network that will play an integral role in winning 2017 polls,” he added.

Sources close to Jubilee points man and also a leading Nyamira Gubernatorial seat Mr. Walter Nyambati indicates that the veteran politician is not comfortable with formation of the offices and has reportedly protested to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“He (Nyambati) as the mastermind of TNA party and among those championing for amalgamation of all Jubilee affiliated parties is not happy with launching of TNA offices. He has written to the President and Deputy protesting over the same because he sees that as a delay tactic in formation of JAP,” said the source.

Many residents who spoke to the reporter had expressed their confusion on whether to support JAP or its affiliates.
