There is confusion in the National Super Alliance (NASA) after the coalition's CEO, Norman Magaya, dismissed a list having Suba North MP John Mbadi as National Assembly Minority Leader.

Speaking during an MPs' induction session today at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi, Mbadi confirmed that he had been appointed as the Minority Leader.

In an interesting twist, however, Magaya shortly later stated the list, which has apparently been submitted to parliament, was not approved by the NASA leadership.

"The purported line-up doing rounds has not been approved by the leadership of NASA and the Parliamentary Group," stated Magaya.

NASA is said to have picked Mbadi as National Assembly minority leader and Lugari's Ayub Savula as the deputy.

Robert Mbui was reportedly chosen as the minority whip.

"A retreat will be organised to have members deliberate, agree and make a resolution on the matter, still stands," added Magaya.

Mbadi replaced former Minority Leader Francis Nyenze who was elected as Kitui West MP on a Wiper Party ticket.

Last week, NASA stated that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula would retain his position as the Minority Leader in the Senate to be deputised by Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr was fronted as the Chief Whip in the Senate to deputised by nominated Senator Petronila Were.
