Kenya might witness another battle of titans in South Rift in August with Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto keen to diminish Deputy President William Ruto’s support in the vote rich region.

With only five months to elections, the two leaders are embroiled in a mother of battles and on Saturday, it was no difference.

Keen to consolidate his support in the region, Ruto took a whooping six hours in Bomet town on Saturday where he took a swipe on the rebel governor, who has since formed Chama Cha Mashinani party.

“When Jubilee is keen to implement projects like university here, that man of Mashimoni party is busy dragging us back,” said a visibly agitate Ruto, adding that he was keen to have the Governor beaten in August elections.

But addressing a fairly large crowd few meters from Bomet Town, Governor Rutto accused Jubilee Party of underdevelopment and vowed to ‘tech’ it a lesson in August.

“They keep of setting aside resources by in long run we do not see development. They have specialized in the art of deceiving people. Jubilee must go home,” he said.

South Rift region is inhabited by Kipsigis community and Jubilee strategists’ fears that the Governor could sway Kericho, Narok and Bomet votes in favor of opposition.

Despite a fierce battle with D Ruto, Governor Rutto is closely working with Johanna Ng’eno (Emurua Dikir] and Narok West MP Patrick Ntutu, who is keen to win governorship in August.
