ODM repeat primaries in seven polling stations in Suba South constituency, Homabay county, that were slated to kick off Wednesday morning, were marred with confusion.

Various primary schools that were to be used as polling centres to conduct the nominations were occupied by pupils who were in class to learn while in other centres, no voting had begun by 7am.

More confusion was witnessed when one of the aspirants, Caroli Omondi, refused to participate in the election, alleging that ODM party is favouring incumbent MP John Mbadi for the ticket.

"It is a mockery of democracy when I participate in an exercise whose results are predetermined,” said Omondi.

The polls have been scheduled for the Koga, Miria God Oloo, Oma, Kiembe, Mukuyu and Nyakiya polling centres.

Omondi is expected to issue a comprehensive statement on his next course later in the day.

On the other hand, Mbadi has expressed confidence he will clinch the ticket.
