Former boxer Conjestina Achieng is among the over 100 patients who on Monday escaped from the Mathari Hospital, Nairobi.
The patients are said to have been left unattended as health workers at the facility joined their counterparts in a nation wide strike over low pay and poor working conditions.
Conjestina, was however, recaptured and returned to the hospital.
The legendary boxer was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia on September 8, 2012.
Police have launched a major operation to capture the patients, with 13 of them having been returned to the facility.
