Business people at Daraja Mbili market have been asked to observe sanity in their business environment as one way of conserving the environment.
Speaking today at the market when he officiated the clean up exercise for Riana River which passes along the busy market, Ongwae noted his government's commitment in ensuring Kisii town is clean.
"I ask the business people at the market to embrace environmental conservation as one way of ensuring sanity prevails, Ongwae encouraged business vendors adding that, his government is slated to add other street lights commonly known as mulika mwizi to enable them carry out their transactions without any fear of insecurity.
On the other hand, the governor commissioned the construction of a bridge across the river to enable the business community conduct their business smoothly.
Earlier in the day, there was a scuffle between the county government and business people, when it was re allocating them a different place to conduct their business. They were arguing that, the new destination would incur them more expenses in ferrying of their commodities.
"I know the challenges you are going through in our market, I order the construction of the bridge across the river starting tomorrow, to enable you conduct your business efficiently," governor pledged.
Ongwae also indicated that the market will be built as soon as experts finish accessing the area, so that business people can have a better place to carry out their business.
"I promise that the market will be built in standard but first of all, we will have experts to assess the area and tell us what is needed to be done," he said.
