Chemno said it is the only way the locals can access clean water at a cheaper cost.

He addressed the press in his office on Friday.

“Ensure that you come up with small solar water pumps which the local farmers can afford. By doing so, your market will definitely increase,” Chemno said.

Chemno met with a delegation from Davis & Shirtliff on the fateful day.

"I challenge Davis & Shirtliff to further devolve their service to grass root level since the bigger percentage is with the small scale farmers," he added.

On his part, the Group CEO David Gatende said water storage culture should be cultivated, noting that during rainy seasons lots of water is wasted which would otherwise be stored for future use.

Gatende said the group was committed to working with all the county governments to ensure that water problems have been solved once and for all.

He lauded the commitment that has been placed by the County Government of Uasin Gishu in providing water solutions to the electorates.

“We have engaged with your administration in the last administration and we saw the commitment you placed which is commendable,” Gatende said.
