This is after Raila Odinga-Opposition leader claimed that the Sh5.8 billion water project will cause desertification in Eastern parts and coastal region of the country, claims Jubilee government dismissed citing that Odinga is doing so to gain politically.

On his part, Atwoli has urged Jubilee not to ignore Raila's claims, citing that what Raila, president Kenyatta and him speaks should not be dismissed.

"Before Raila speaks out, he conducts research deeply. He said about NYS corruption scandal which later come out true after it was dismissed. Raila's statements should not be taken for granted," said Atwoli.

Atwoli added that Jubilee must carry out investigations to avoid any environment effects that may be brought by the water project as claimed by Odinga.
