President Uhuru Kenyatta mocked Nasa presidential running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka, Sunday.

He said that through his Wiper Democratic Movement - Kenya, Kalonzo had submitted his name, to be nominated as a senator, if Nasa loses, in the August 8 elections.According to the Jubilee Party leader, Kalonzo had sensed defeat, hence the decision, to shield himself from the political cold, when Jubilee wins.Kalonzo dismissed the allegations, in a quick rejoinder. However, according to the law, assertions that Kalonzo can be a nominated senator, or be nominated to any other parliamentary position, is impossible. The Constitution and the revised Elections Act states that a political candidate that has been cleared to contest an election, automatically loses the right to be nominated irrespective of their stand in a party. Also, the Senate nomination list has 20 nomination slots, Constitutionally. 18 reserved for women; 1 for the youth representative and another 1 reserved for person living with disability.Kalonzo is not a youth, neither is he someone with disability, nor a woman. This automatically locks him out, of being nominated.Political analysts, Herman Manyora and Barack Muluka criticised Uhuru, saying his claims were baseless and should stop engaging in petty politics.
