Residents of Bonchari have decried what they termed as 'awaiting disaster' due to the poor construction of a bridge linking Riana and Nyamage in Bonchari constituency.
Locals led by Tom Manani have lamented the way the bridge has been constructed using old wooden timbers.
"How can someone convince us to vote Opore in 2017 yet he has failed to construct a bridge that school going children use to Nyamage primary school. If the bridge will not be constructed well, children and locals crossing over the bridge will soon be carried by moving water of Riana river," posed Manani.
John Areri stated that young people from the constituency should form a group to oust Opore in 2017 if he will fail to honor his promises to the people of Bonchari.
"What we need as youths is a follow up on the promises made by Opore. The construction of Riastuka bridge is just a few meters away to Opore's home. Just beneath the bridge is Riana river. What if the wooden timbers break as locals cross over, will this not result in deaths," lamented Areri.
Eugene Keragori argued that the only way to save the constituency is by voting Opore out in 2017 citing that Bonchari does not need Opore's filthy services.
