Muthwani Secondary School's Head teacher Joseph Keilu has urged Mavoko Constituency Development Fund to consider the school by constructing toilets for both students and teachers.
Speaking at a function in the school on Friday, Keilu said the in spite of the school being in existence for decades, it has no single toilet for teachers and students.
Keilu disclosed that both students and teachers shared a one roomed toilet belonging to a nearby local church, which is 200 metres from the institution.
“it is a big shame for a school that has been in existence for all these years to lack an important facility like toilets, making teachers and students seek for one 200 metres away,” lamented Kimeu.
The head teacher said it was equally embarrassing for the teachers and students to share a single toilet, arguing that it was compromising quality of education in the institution in away.
Kimeu said teachers and students wasted a lot of class and study times as they had to walk the 200 meters to relieve themselves and also wait longer time for those using the facility at that particular time to finish before they get in for same service.
The area MP, Patrick Makau, said his office would construct modern toilets to the school in a month’s time from now, and also consider it in the 2015 - 2016 CDF's financial year for construction of modern laboratory, dinning hall and a 100 capacity dormitory for the students.
