[Photo: Elvanis Ronoh]Construction of the of the Sh200 billion AEZ Pearl River industrial park in Eldoret will commence in January 2018.AEZ Chairman David Langat said once complete, the park will create 50,000 direct and 150,000 jobs."We delayed a bit because of politics, but engineers are on the ground and come January 2018, the construction will officially start," he said in Eldoret town, Sunday."We expect the project to be 100 percent complete by December 2018. The park will transform the region and Kenya through providing value addition to agricultural produce and opening Kenya to the international markets,“ he added.
"Locals should construct houses and bring food which will be used by engineers and also people who will be working in the park once it's complete," noted Langat.
The industrial park will consist companies such as agro-processing, energy, machinery, engineering, construction, electronics, ICT, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
