The contractor of the storey complex resumed work on the site one week ago after the office received funding from the treasure to complete the building.

The construction was started by the former area deputy county commissioner Kodeck Makori who constructed the building from foundation to ground floor before its first phase’s funds got completed.

Makori was later moved to Office of the President early in the year but promised to push for release of the phase two funds for continuation of the offices’ construction.

The current Athi River deputy county commissioner Albert Kimathi who spoke to this writer at his office in Athi River town on Thursday confirmed his office had received funds for continuation of the complexes’ construction.

Kimathi said the building was spacious enough to accommodate majority of the sub-counties departmental heads who have got no offices.

A spot check by this writer found out that some of the officers serving national government in the sub-county were operating in rented officers across the region.

Kimathi said such civil servants would be relieved once the offices were complete for they will be all relocated to the state of art offices within the complex located at the deputy county commissioner’s current office compound.
