Risk consultant and businessman Polycarp Orero has expressed optimism that he will emerge victorious in the West Mugirango parliamentary seat race in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with this writer on Thursday, Orero, who is giving the seat a second stab after vying unsuccessfully in 2013, said he derived his confidence for victory from the rising support base he is currently enjoying in the region.
He further argues that he comes from a region that has been marginalised socially and politically, and therefore has an upper hand for the sake of regional balance play out.
So many factors favor my candidature Let me outline a few, "Regional balance is paramount in the 2017 elections. We must emphasize on that," he said.
"Our region has been marginalised for long and our people have a feeling that they must elect there own," he added.
Orero is set to vie on an ODM ticket.
