Residents of Machakos County have been urged to buy meat from Kenya Meat Commission in order to promote the company.
The call was made by the firm’s Managing Commissioner Joseph Learamo who said majority of the residents did not know that they can buy meat from the company directly.
“I call on the Machakos residents to promote Kenya Meat Commission by purchasing meat among other products directly from the company,” said Learamo.
Learamo who addressed the press at KMC, Athi River town's plant on Wednesday said there were perceptions that only certain class of individuals were allowed to buy meat from the company directly.
He said it was easier and even cheaper to buy the products from the company than the local butcheries around.
The managing commissioner said the factory offers quantity discounts for any purchases made from the company directly.
He said their products were handled and managed by experts and therefore had the best quality in the market thereby justifying their brand 'KMC', a cut above the best.”
Learamo said the company would adversely increase its sales if the locals from all corners of the county and beyond embrace buying meat from the firm directly.
He said that would also encourage local marketing alongside their current supplies to selected hotels, butcheries and learning institutions in the region they currently supply with the products on daily basis.
