Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has urged the new Cabinet Secretary for Education Amina Mohamed to continue with the reforms initiated by her predecessor Dr. Fred Matiangi.
He said the reforms should be implemented to the latter to improve the education sector.
"I congratulate ambassador Amina Mohamed for being appointed the CS Education, I want to urge her to follow into his predecessor's footsteps and should not allow herself to be compromised by cartels whose aim is to destroy the education system," Kositany said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
"Let her use the experience she has to further improve the education system since we have faith in her leadership," he added.
The Jubilee allied legislator, however, expressed concerns over the increased use of illegal alcohol and drugs among school going children in his constituency leading to poor performance.
"I want to urge the county Commissioner Abdi Hassan and all education stakeholders to help us in the fight to end this mess," he said.
"I will also partner with NACADA to sensitize students on the dangers of using drugs and alcohol," noted Kositany.
