Officials of the Party of National Unity (PNU) have issued contradicting information in regards to the dissolution of the outfit to join Jubilee Party.

Last week on Friday, chairman John Kamama announced that PNU party had dissolved and had joined Jubilee. 

However, Secretary General John Okwema has stated that the party stil remains indepedent and it has not joined Jubilee as claimed by Kamama. 

"We dont understand what Kamama intentions are by declaring that PNU was dissolved," said Okwema in an interview with Nation. 

Okwema however stated that the party that was used by former president Mwai Kibaki to seek re-election in 2007 will soon hold a national delegates conferece. 

The leader further accused Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi of causing confusin in the party following his political differeces with governor Peter Munya. 

"Murungi should come clean on why he is after our party. He knows there is no decison to dissolve the party," said Okwema. 

Munya who is also the PNU leader has maintained that he will not join Jubilee and he has been labelled a rebel member of the ruling coalition.
