The Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo and Auditor General Edward Ouko, appeared before a joint of the Senate Committee on Finance and Budget and that of County Public Accounts and Investment (CPAIC) on Wednesday.
The meeting chaired by CPAIC chairman Senator Moses Kajwang and Finance Chair Senator Mohammed Maalim at the County hall chambers, saw the discuss pending bills in the County governments.
Odhiambo told the committees that counties have an outstanding pending bill of Sh96 billion and that they are not paying their creditors despite receiving their sharable revenues.
Meanwhile Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter accompanied by the Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Njoroge and teams from Kenya Power and KenGen Kenya appeared before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Energy.
This was in response to the recent partial power outage in parts of the country and mitigating measures that have been put in place to improve the reliability of power.
