The MCAs said that no single roads in their wards had been upgraded yet the money was allocated.

The sector received Sh287 million of the Sh4.5 billion the county was allocated by the national government.

Minority leader Jackson Mogusu stated that the ward reps said the administration should explain how the funds were spent.

However, House, Finance and Appropriations committee chair James Sabwengi raised concerns that the Executive had recently allocated Sh150 million to Mechanical and Transport Fund which was unprocedural.

"It is wrong to allocate Sh150 million to MTF to do the roads without consultation since projects will be carried in our wards,"Mr Sabwengi said.

Governor John Nyagarama instituted a MTF task force comprising eight people to assist the committee member for roads to fast track projects.

The MCAs asked the governor to involve the assembly when making the allocations.
