Residents of Komu sub-location in Kamenu Ward have been urged to strengthen their cooperation with the police ahead of the festive season.
Speaking on Friday at Kimuchu Primary School playground during a security baraza, area assistant chief Joseph Njoroge urged the residents to also coordinate with their nyumba kumi clusters.
"As you all know, we are about to enter into a very critical time of the year when crime in this area doubles. That is why I am calling on everyone to cooperate with the police and our existing nyumba kumi clusters," said Njoroge.
The administrator noted that cooperation between residents and security agents in the area would do enough to stem out crime before, during and after the festive season. "With cooperation we can keep away all those with ill intentions and manage to have a peaceful holidays," he said.
The assistant chief also called upon bar owners in the area to strictly adhere to the operation hours saying that many criminals use the bars as hideouts. "Many criminals use the bars as hideouts where they plan their activities before striking. Let all bar owners be vigilant and know their customers and also adhere to set rules," Njoroge stated.
