A police officer and a civilian were arrested Monday morning while allegedly trying to mug unsuspecting residents along Donholm Road.
According to police reports, the officer attached to police headquarters in Nairobi was working with his accomplice and had been terrorising residents who then raised alarm and informed the police.
Buruburu OCPD Geoffrey Mayiek said the police officers who responded ordered the two to surrender and upon being searched they were found having a certificate of appointment, a pair of handcuffs and a fake pistol.
The officer's accomplice is a casual labourer in the area.
They were later taken and locked up at the police station and will be arraigned in court to face charges of robbery with violence.
