A police officer has been shot dead in Kayole and his gun stolen.
The incident took place Tuesday dawn.
The officer attached to the Diplomatic Police Unit was walking from home to board a matatu when he was ambushed by the suspected thugs.
After the shooting, he was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
According to police reports, he was on his way to work at the hour.
The gang took his pistol before escaping on foot.
Investigations have begun into the matter although no one has been arrested yet.
Elsewhere, police in Kawangware have gunned down four suspected thugs who were terrorising residents.
The officers responded to public calls after a bodaboda rider had been robbed of his motorcycle.
