MCSK director Lazarus Muli has said the organisation is seeking the opinions of traders to ensure that both groups (Camp and Prisk), have one licence instead of invading shops using different licences.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting in Embu town, the director said the music industry is earning musicians millions of shillings and that the organisation is going the extra mile in ensuring their rights are protected.

He said some musicians have on several occasions been harassed in different regions in the country, adding that other than collecting money on their behalf, the organisation is also working on their safety.

“Other than collecting money on behalf of the musicians, we want to ensure that their talents are well nurtured and protected as per the law,” he said.

He said they have a fund at the organisation that is boosting the talents of upcoming musicians and also helping them in marketing of their products.

Muli said the organisation has also put in place proper measures to combat the increased cases of piracy so as to ensure the musicians get value for their music.
