Mudavadi himself has triggered the ecstatic mood among the Cord rank and file when he confirmed that he had held talks with Raila both in Philadelphia when they attended the Democratic Party Convention in the United States since they slept in the same hotel.

“We have since followed up the talks even after jetting back, over a possibility of working together again to help oust Jubilee coalition from power,” said Mudavadi.

The party leader said he shared a lot of political views with Raila but it did not mean that he was about to join him. Nonetheless, he did not rule out a possibility of them teaming up.

A cross-section of Cord leaders has welcomed Musalia back to the CORD fold, saying that it is where he belongs since he had worked with Raila in ODM as his running-mate.

The leaders who have expressed gratitude and said that they are looking to Musalia return include; Timothy Bosire (ODM treasurer), MPs Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem) , Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) ,and Opondo Kaluma (Homa Bay).

ODM director of political affairs, Opiyo Wandayi said Cord was approaching political leaders who are dissatisfied with the status quo, and Musalia is one of them.

“The ANC chief is welcome back to where he belongs and was free to give his ideas as the coalition works out its formula for picking the flag-bearer,” said Wandayi.

On his part, Mudavadi’s personal assistant, Kibisu Kabatesi while asked about his boss’ political plans said such an idea was welcome and will be treated with the seriousness it deserved when the opportune time comes.
