Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has warned that continued anti-IEBC protests organised by opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula is a recipe for violence in 2017 general elections.
Kuria while addressing worshippers at Sty Francis Catholic Church in Kasarani on Sunday warned that the country is likely to experience violence in 2017 if measures will not be taken to stop Cord protests.
The MP claimed that Cord was keen to disrupt next year’s general elections through their IEBC protests.
“Cord leaders should tell us the truth because their issue is not the IEBC, they have other hidden agenda,” he claimed.
Kuria said that it was selfish for Cord leaders to demand for dialogue and later reject it.
The controversial Gatundu lawmaker also asked Cord to shelve their demands for dialogue and come to the table for talks on IEBC.
Kuria is a member of the 11 member team selected by Jubilee for the IEBC talks.
Speaking at the service, Kiambu Women Representative Ann Nyokabi called on Cord leaders to embrace dialogue.
The Women Representative intimated that dialogue was the key way to addressing issues surrounding the electoral body.
“Cord should stop agitating for protests which later results to loss of lives and destruction of property but rather use the required channels to present their concerns,” said Nyokabi.
