Former Kenyan Vice President and Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka has hinted a possible split between his party, The Wiper Party and CORD.
The possible split is being attributed to Raila's absence in last weekend's function at Kakamega County that brought about fracas.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday in Nairobi, the Wiper secretary general, Hassan Omar expressed his dissatisfaction saying it was unfortunate that Raila skipped the function against their earlier plans. He termed Raila’s visit to Magufuli as unfortunate and demeaning for the opposition.
It was expected that Raila would register his presence in the much-hyped presidential bid launch for the Bungoma senator, Moses Wetangula, who is also among the three CORD co-principals.
Hassan in his address went further to reveal his worries that what Raila did will work against the coalition as the public and their rivals will create an impression that CORD is not a united party.
‘‘It was demeaning of him to have opted for a holiday, just a day when one of our party leaders had a national event. He ought not to have missed the launch but to reschedule the Magufuli visit to a later date.
Omar delivered his address just hours after the Ford Kenya leadership also made such similar sentiments of reviewing its loyalty and affiliation with CORD.
