Deputy President William Ruto told opposition coalition Cord to prepare for a massive defeat come 2017 general election, saying it lacks a clear development agenda for the country.
Speaking on Saturday at Nyahururu town, the DP pointed out that Jubilee had already won the support of Kenyans following its development record.
“I want to tell my friends from the Opposition that they should be prepared for a strong defeat. Let them not blame anyone after the loss for they have failed to organise themselves,” Ruto pointed out.
“Up to now, they even do not have a presidential candidate. Do you want to tell me that they can lead this country?” he posed.
Speaking in Kakamega during the homecoming party of the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Technology Sammy Itemere, Ruto further said that Cord is only good at conducting demonstrations and criticising the government, but lacks clear development agenda.
“The difference between us in the Jubilee Party and Cord is like day and night. The Opposition does not have a clear manifesto for Kenyans,” said Ruto.
The DP said Jubilee was committed to developing all regions and urged the Luhya community to embrace development and shun empty rhetoric from the opposition.
