Cord’s top management has firmly made a call on immediate disbandment of the IEBC.

In their arguments, the opposition cited lack of independence and impartiality on the electoral agency stating that the current managers in agency can never and will never manage the forthcoming general elections.

The call was made during the Saturday Kamukunji meeting which was attended by all the three CORD principals, Raila, Wetangula and Kalonzo.

It is apparent that the opposition's demand is gaining momentum as all the speakers who attended the rally could not avoid criticising the election oversight agency. Raila also took the chance to express Cord’s intention to storm the IEBC offices to demand the approval of the signatures that were discarded during the verification process, noting that all the signatures submitted were genuine and valid.

During the rally, the opposition made a public call to all like-minded citizens to join them in occupying IEBC offices, as a way of agitating for the Okoa Kenya call for the referendum.

The opposition has in the past claimed that the current IEBC has been working and leaning towards the ruling coalition making it hard to give it's independent outcome in the 2017 elections. The government has also been criticized for meddling with the activities of the IEBC.
