The opposition has been bashed for holding the lives of poor city residents at ransom over these weekly demonstrations in Nairobi.
Cord leader, Raila Odinga has been accused of taking advantage of desperate youths to cause havoc in the city for his political gains.
Speaking in Nairobi just after the Cord protests which turned violent, the chair of the National Assembly Defense committee, Githinji Ndung'u said Raila should take full responsibility of his uncalled for demonstrations.
Githinji expressed that the Cord leader is a habitual complainer who is up to test the state with his baseless cries with no tangible evidence. He said Raila has, in the past complained in almost anything that the government initiates to ensure public confidence.
Citing an incident in the past government, Githinji is quoted saying that Raila protested against the replacement of former ECK chairman, Samuel Kivuitu only to reappear later saying that the same Kivuitu was incompetent.
Raila has been in the forefront in fighting for reforms in the IEBC prior to the 2017 voting exercise.
