Deputy President William Ruto has launched yet another attack on the Opposition, claiming its co-principals have trust issues.
Ruto criticised Raila and his team for displaying open mistrust on almost all constitutional bodies in the country.
Speaking in Uasin Gishu County over the weekend, Ruto expressed dissatisfaction on how the Opposition is conducting its rallies across the country, faulting them for breeding tension among peace-loving Kenyans prior to the forthcoming elections.
"You cannot fail to trust even one constitutional body in the country. This person (Raila) says he has no trust in the IEBC, he does not trust the Judiciary, he does not trust the Parliament, he does not trust the KNCHR, what does he trust now?' posed Ruto.
He also said the government will only negotiate on the IEBC issue in Parliament using the constitutionally provided protocols.
However, the Deputy President assured Kenyans that the 2017 elections will be peaceful, free and fair.
Regarding the threats by the Opposition to boycott the next elections, Ruto said as long as the government is doing as expected, then Opposition has no reason to forego elections.
Ruto's statements come at a time when the Opposition, insisted with the claims that the 2017 elections would never be free or fair if IEBC chair Isaak Hassan and other commissioners still remain in office.
