Duale has termed Cord’s claims as mere propaganda, saying the opposition is looking for ways to fault the government ahead of the 2017 elections.

“The opposition should find something meaningful to talk about instead of pestering lies,” he said during an interview on NTV on Wednesday night.

The leader of Majority claimed that Raila’s camp wants to divert Jubilee government attention on development, stating that Jubilee government will not waste time engaging Cord in propaganda.

The National Assembly leader of Majority accused Cord of sensing defeat in the 2017 polls and looking for excuses in order to win Kenyans' sympathy.

On Tuesday, the opposition alleged a plot by the jubilee govern to rig the 2017 polls, saying they government is secretly meeting and engaging with IEBC officials.

At a press briefing at the Capitol Hill in Nairobi on Tuesday, Cord management committee led by Siaya senator James Orengo with his Machakos counterpart Johnson Muthama alleged that Deputy President William Ruto is secretly meeting with ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joe Mucheru and some IEBC officials to plan on rigging the 2017 polls.

Cord also accused the Jubilee government of stalling the electoral reforms, claiming that Uhuru’s government is not committed to implement the electoral reforms passed recently.

The IEBC in a statement on Tuesday rubbished cord’s claims, terming them malicious.

The Process of selecting and appointing new IEBC chair and commissioners is already underway.
