Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has said Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders are ready to smoke President Uhuru Kenyatta out of office come 2017.
Omar said CORD is still united and nothing will come between them until they unseat the current government, which he said has been marred by corruption.
“We are together and we will remain together in 2017,” he said, as quoted by The Standard.
The outspoken senator also accused the government of failing to fight corruption, tribalism and marginalization of some sections of the nation, when it comes to employment as well as resource allocation.
“We are ready to remove the corrupt government from power to put in place an accountable leadership that will address the myriad of problems facing Kenyans like poverty and unemployment, and the thorny squatter issue,” he said.
The Wiper Secretary General pointed out that food prices have been increasing yet the government is doing nothing to curb the same.
“Food prices are skyrocketing. The only thing that will save Kenya is change of leaders in the management of the country’s affairs. CORD is the only hope for Kenyans,” said Omar.
Omar seeks to unseat Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in the next general election.
