Kalonzo, who met a host of Mombasa County leaders on Saturday said unity in the Coastal region has defied Jubilee efforts to woo Cord voters.

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka added that the three Cord Co-principles will make sure Jubilee does not infiltrate opposition strongholds.

Other leaders who addressed the meeting at Aga Khan hall in Mvita Constituency endorsed the wiper leader as the Cord flag bearer.

Led by Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, the leaders said it is time the former vice president assumed the presidency.

ODM leaders in the meeting led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho avoided the endorsement chatter and instead called for healthy internal competition in Cord.

Joho also took a swipe at Jubilee cautioning its leaders against dismissing the opposition as second class citizens.
