Led by Senators James Orengo (Siaya) and Johnston Muthama (Machakos) the cord legislatures maintained the commissioners have got no moral authority to conduct the elections and therefore the electoral body must be reconstituted.

The leaders who spoke at a build up political rally in Mlolongo town on Sunday to mobilize the coalition supporters to join them in storming IEBC Nairobi headquarters every Monday said they would not relent on the war against IEBC.

They included Machakos deputy governor Bernard Kiala, Patrick Makau (Mavoko), Senator Elizabeth Ongoro (Nominated), and Women representatives Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and Susan Musyoka (Machakos).

Orengo said Cord principal Raila Odinga and himself had in the history never lost any war geared towards deliberating Kenyans from oppression and was not losing the IEBC reconstitution to Jubilee administration.

He said IEBC cannot conduct the elections because majority of Kenyans have lost confidence in its commissioners having rigged the 2013 elections in favor of Jubilee.

“Raila and Kalonzo won in all major towns in the country in 2013, that explains why Cord’s governors and MCAs are the majority as their numbers outweigh those from Jubilee. IEBC has never answered the question that despite the win in the counties, how comes Raila and Kalonzo lost,” said Orengo.

“We started this war when the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was the president, we cannot be intimidated and threatened by arrests. Raila has spent more than 10 years in jail, he is a recognizable leader worldwide. “Mimi ni mabusu anayejua haki zake, we cannot be cowed,” said Orengo.

“Our continuous demonstrations are on as from this week, they are within the law. We are the law as wananchi, Uhuru and Ruto are not above and below the law,” said Orengo.

Muthama said IEBC insulted Cord supporters by rejecting their signatures meant for the Okoa Kenya Referendum.

“Why didn’t Hassan tell us to provide more signatures if there were problems in the ones were presented to IEBC,” said Muthama.

“Death is better than slavery, we have announced to all Kenyans that the demonstrations are on nationally to ensure that IEBC goes home, no reverse gear,” added Muthama.

He said he would mobilize Machakos county residents to block Mombasa road at Kyumbi and Mlolongo towns to paralyze transport in a bid of intensifying the demonstrations.

Orengo said they successfully fought the war on multiparty in 1992 during President Daniel Moi and that of giving Kenyans a new constitution in 2010 and therefore will not be defeated in sending IEBC parking.

“We are the people, Moi said there would be no multiparty but we said we are the people and now we have multipartyism. The new constitution did not come easily, we fought for it. We are the people,” said Orengo.
