The Cord senator has broken ranks with the coalition leaders, led by Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wateng’ula, describing their quest for dialogue with the government as selfish and misguided.

Speaking in Nyamira town, Okong’o also noted that some of the leaders in the Cord coalition have been in government and know the good that comes with it.

“Most of them have been in past governments and they know the benefits of being there and now being in the cold, they are stressed and uncomfortable, and that is why they want a comeback through the backdoor at the expense of the coalition,” said Okong’o.

The senator challenged the Cord co-principals to quit the coalition and join the Jubilee administration, instead of using dialogue as a gateway of joining the government.

He said also that Cord leaders should instead take advantage of the government’s failures to strengthen the coalition, as they prepare for the forthcoming 2017 General Elections.
