Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has waded into the ongoing debate as to who should be Cord’s presidential flag bearer in next year’s general election.
Speaking on Monday after inspecting various development projects in the constituency, the MP said Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is best placed to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta in the presidential poll.
“We in Wiper are strongly behind His Excellency the former Vice President because we believe is the best man to face Uhuru on the ballot,” Mule told journalists at Kisukioni in Matungulu constituency.
He said Cord coalition principals must end the debate about the presidential flag bearer and settle on Kalonzo, who’s currently the 'strongest possible candidate.’
However, the MP downplayed the ongoing political wrangles relating to ODM in Western Kenya, describing it as ‘of no consequence’ to the coalition’s strength.
