These sentiments were echoed by Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire.

Mbarire is part of the 11-member team delegated by Jubilee to steer electoral reforms talks with the opposition.

Mbarire further said that Cord is not sincere in their quest to disband IEBC but are keen to topple the government 'through the back door.'

“Raila Odinga knows he will not win the 2017 elections because the Jubilee government is becoming popular by the day. He is looking for a substitute to enable him to grab power," said Mbarire.

She also termed the formation of a transitional government 'illegal' and reaffirmed that Jubilee government will not pursue that path.

Mbarire went on to condemn Cord's weekly anti-IEBC protest, saying it is a grand plan by the opposition to grab power illegally.
