Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa has accused Cord of plotting to scuttle the 2017 elections through their anti-IEBC protests.
Ichung’wa further accused Cord leaders of orchestrating to cause fear among Kenyans ahead of the 2017 polls.
Speaking on phone on Monday, he alleged that Cord has calculated plans to cause chaos similar to that witnessed during the 2007/2008 post-election violence.
The lawmaker said that if not checked the protests by opposition leaders will spell doom for the country.
“Cord have a hidden agenda of causing violence as we approach the 2017 elections and they also want to scuttle the elections because they know that they are going to lose,” said the MP.
“The ultimate objective of the opposition leaders is to cause confusion and scuttle the 2017 elections,” the MP added.
Ichung’wa said that Cord has violated the democratic gains achieved by the country through their chaotic protests.
The MP said that while opposition leaders have a right to protests, it was illegal for them to perpetuate chaos.
Ichung’wa said that Jubilee will not be controlled by the opposition leaders.
The lawmaker maintained that opposition leaders have to use the right constitutional mechanisms in having the electoral body disbanded.
