Cord is pushing for the disbandment of the electoral body saying it’s not suited to conduct the next general elections.
The opposition is alleging that the IEBC is being influenced by the ruling Jubilee government to rig the 2017 elections claims the electoral body has refuted.
While appearing before the Parliamentary Legal Committee on Tuesday, IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan said that he and the commissioners will not be forced to resign.

In Kiambu, Ruiru MP Esther Gathongo called for action against Cord leaders accusing them of inciting supporters to violence.
Gathongo who addressed journalists at Ruiru Town on Tuesday said that Cord leaders should be held responsible for causing chaos during the protests.
