CORD leader Raila Odinga has refuted reports that the coalition is facing a fall out over its choice of a flag bearer in next year’s elections.
Odinga said what appears to be a split in the Coalition is a strategy to clinch the presidency in 2017.
“We know what we are doing,” Raila said.
CORD which comprises of ODM, Wiper Democratic Movement and Ford Kenya has exhibited divisions on the mode of nominating a candidate ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Moses Wetang’ula have publicly asked Odinga to endorse one of them, a proposal the ODM leader has said should be decided by the coalition’s supporters.
ODM wants the coalition’s leader to be chosen based on party strength, which undoubtedly gives the Orange party an upper hand, while Mr Musyoka has said he has sacrificed a lot and deserves the ticket.
Mr Wetang’ula says he is the untested man who should take on President Uhuru Kenyatta as the principals had tried and lost.
