The opposition coalition has added yet other demands that it says ought to be fulfilled in the ongoing reforms on the country's electoral commission.
The coalition now says the Jubilee government should put in place new strategies to ease the issuance of national identification cards to the residents of Garissa, Mandera and Wajir counties who have for long, been sidelined.
The new call on the Jubilee government comes at a time when the opposition argued that some communities in the country get priority when it comes to the issuance of national identification cards.
According to the opposition, the areas that are in support of the government have their identification documents processed faster than the regions affiliated to the opposition.
In the past, Raila Odinga had challenged the Jubilee coalition to devolve the issuance of the documents to country levels in what he said will hasten service delivery.
However, the government and the security agencies have so far criticised the proposals, noting that devolving the process will create loopholes to corrupt cartels out to benefit from the scheme.
