This time, the protests will be held on Monday and Thursday, the coalition's Secretariat announced on Friday.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, the Cord Secretariat headed by Norman Magaya said they have notified authorities on the planned peaceful demonstrations on Monday June 13 and Thursday June 16 to express their displeasure and call for the overhaul of the IEBC ahead of the next general elections.

“The demonstrations will be peaceful and to ensure orderly procession, the coalition has made arrangements for peace marshals who will guide and manage the demonstrators,” read the statement in part.

The calls on fresh demonstrations comes amid disagreements between Cord and their Jubilee counterparts over the composition of the committee that will engage in the IEBC stalemate.

On Thursday, State House refuted Cord's ultimatum that gave the government a 24 hours to constitute their committee and draw their concerns to be brought on table.

The statement said the deadline was un-achievable and that the four-man team that Cord brigade selected is not functionable.

“We have seen from the Cord statement that there was a proposal of another four member committee that we as a party are unaware of. There has not been any suggestion or agreement on this four-member committee,” State House read.

Earlier on Thursday, Senator Kiraitu Murungi who Cord leader Raila Odinga had said would be leading the Jubilee two-member team to face Cord’s pair of Senator James Orengo and MP Simiyu Eseli had told Citizen TV that he was out of town until Monday.
