Speaking in Bahati on Monday, area MP Kimani Ngunjiri took a swipe at the opposition saying that they are dragging the government into the businessman’s death with a motive to tarnish the image of the government and gain political mileage.

“We are hearing people saying that jubilee was responsible for Juma’s death and others still from the opposition have dragged the name of deputy president. They should stop because all these accusations are false,” he said adding, “It is a ploy to shift attention to their side and gain political mileage.”

Ngunjiri, joined in the call made by other leaders who have asked the opposition led by Raila Odinga to allow authorities do their investigations and come out with an answer.

“They should let the police do their work and if they have some information to share about his death, they can go to police but not making public statements with an aim to discredit the government,” Ngunjiri said.

Deputy President William Ruto in a separate event also urged the opposition to embrace the working of investigative authorities and cease discrediting the government.
