The sanator was among eight other MPs who were accused of hate speech remarks and remanded at Pangani Police Station for four days.

Delivering the judgement, Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo said that Muthama had done no mistake and that he was unfairly remanded. He further said that it will be an abuse of the court process if he rules of a mistake that was not made.

In June,M uthama was remanded together with Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Florence Mutua (Busia Woman representative) and Aisha Jumwa (Kilifi) over spreading hate messages.

The move led to CORD supporters countrywide holding demonstrations over misuse of power by the Jubilee government.

However, the supporters will still wait for such luck to befell Junet and Aisha Jumwa, who were also accused of the same.
