Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka told the press on Thursday that the change of heart was in harmony with giving the Senate legal affairs committee time to deliberate on the matter.

"I had the pleasure of welcoming my brothers Sen Moses Wetangula and Siaya Senator James Orengo at my Karen home. To consult and address, the media as we announced to suspend the demos scheduled for 4th January 2017, to await the Senate debate on the elections laws and the outcome," reads Kalonzo Facebook post.

Musyoka however, said that the Cord co-principals will still meet on January 5th to review the decision made by the senate before they can advice their supporters on the way forward.

"We plan to have a meeting on the 5th to discuss the outcome and announce the next course of action. God bless Kenya," Kalonzo posted on hid Facebook page.
